Image metadata remover
Re-encode image pixels to remove original file metadata.
JavaScript is required to run the interactive tool. Open the tool separately if it does not load in the frame.
How to use it
Choose an image and an output format. Download the re-encoded file and check it before sharing.
Example
A JPEG with EXIF is decoded and exported as a new JPEG without the source EXIF block.
Frequently asked question
Does this remove visible personal information?
No. Names, faces and text visible in the image remain. Re-encoding is not redaction and does not guarantee removal of every hidden detail.
Limits and privacy
Input is limited to 20 MB and 40 million decoded pixels. Re-encoding can change pixels and size; no guarantee is made about every encoder-added field.
Tool input is processed in a separate browser environment without advertising or analytics scripts. This page does not upload it to the service.
